Host a Trunk Show
Hey, World Changers! Welcome to Noonday Collection!
When I was younger, I remember vacationing with my family and exploring local shops. Every time my mother would find something that caught her eye, she would remark, "It's such a conversation piece!" My sister and I would roll our eyes and mock her in sarcastic teenage tones. Funny thing is, as I got older and spent a considerable amount of time traveling with my yoga career, I would find myself visiting artisan villages and finding things that were unique and different--well, to be honest, they were conversation pieces! I loved returning from trips to exotic places like India, Thailand, Bali or the Caribbean and sharing my new finds with my friends and family. When I would meet strangers and they would comment on a scarf from India I would have the opportunity to share it's history: how its bold pattern was handmade from block print. That, in and of itself was lovely, but what was even more moving was the story behind the women who made them. These women, whom I met in person, were rescued from human trafficking, taught a skill and now were learning a dignified trade to support themselves. I loved finding beautiful, handcrafted pieces and meeting the face behind the piece. Knowing that I was contributing to their quality of life filled my heart.
When I found Noonday, I was in a transitional period of my life. As "they" say, when one door closes, another opens. Noonday is a socially responsible business that uses fashion to create meaningful opportunities for people around the world. Noonday's trunk shows allow you to see our collection of beautiful, handcrafted jewelry and accessories made by Artisans around the World. During my travels, I have had the opportunity to see many similar Artisan work and brought it back for myself and to share as gifts for those I care about most. Learning that Noonday provides a fair trade marketplace for artisan businesses to share their handmade goods made with love from countries like India, Guatemala, Vietnam, Haiti and Uganda (just to name a few!) was inviting to me, but that isn't what sealed the deal. The clincher for me was that Noonday empowers women, cherishes children and provides dignified jobs in vulnerable communities and connects us all. When a woman shows up, she rises up. When she rises up, she brings others with her. Show up and Rise up with me!
*The name Noonday Collection comes from Isaiah 58:10: "If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday."*
